After more than 12 years of research and development, Gaudry Normand invented the crystal harp in 2011. Gaudry holds many patents on the unique mechanisms. All instruments are carefully and precisely crafted by hand and with love, in our workshop at Mine Cristal, Bonsecours, Quebec, Canada.

This new and unique instrument is protected by an industrial design in several countries (design patent).

What’s more, the Crystal Lyre has international patents pending for its unique mechanism and its various activation systems. The crystal lyre and harp have eight pure quartz tubes (99.9% SiO2), mounted on an acrylic base, wich correspond to the C-major scale.

Effects

Quartz is a noble, natural material that possesses an immense vibratory capacity. The Crystal Harp produces powerful, resonant sounds which are multidirectional and multidimensional; one could even say they are omnidirectional.

The Crystal Harp and Crystal Lyra were developed by Gaudry Normand and are the result from more than 12 years research and development work.

The handmade crystal instruments impress with their crystal sound and unique timbre.

They consist of pure quartz crystal tubes (SiO2), which are mounted on a transparent acrylic base in such a way, that the crystal tubes receive an optimal oscillation space.

The crystal instruments, a chakra tuner

The eight crystal tubes are tuned exactly to the octave of the C major scale. For this reason, G.Normand gave the harp the nickname "Chakra Tuner".
